The Department of Chemistry maintains a glassblowing facility to benefit the research community. Staffed by two glassblowers, Daryl Smith and Preston Smith. They work closely with scientists, researchers and other skilled craftsman to provide exceptional service. All of your glass needs, whether it’s standard catalog items, modifications of existing glassware, or new designs, can be acquired from the Yale Glass Shop and will be more affordable than using other sources.

Since 1924 Yale has housed its own glassblowing facility to accommodate the custom needs of its research scientists. Today, the Yale Glass Shop is led by glassblowers Daryl Smith and Preston Smith, a father-son team that applies their rare craft to support Yale’s world-leading research.
