Event description:

Join Michelle Nearon, Senior Associate Dean & Director of Office for Graduate Student Development and Diversity, as she leads a workshop on inclusive leadership.

The discussion will touch on the basics of what inclusive leadership means and current thoughts on best practices.

What does it mean to be an inclusive leader?

Inclusive leaders are individuals who are aware of their own biases and actively seek out and consider different perspectives to inform their decision-making and collaboration with others.

Inclusive leaders commit to ensuring all team members are treated equitably, feel a sense of belonging and value, and have the resources and support they need to achieve their full potential.

This event is brought to you by Chemistry’s DEI Advocates, trained volunteers who serve as a resource for all department members. Their goal is to support colleagues confronting discrimination, harassment, mental health challenges, and other issues related to equity, inclusion, and climate. They also host trainings and community-building gatherings.
