Jim Mayer and Seth Herzon win National Awards from the American Chemical Society

Congratulations to two of our faculty for winning prestigious National Awards from the American Chemical Society! Prof. Jim Mayer has won the 2018 ACS Award in Inorganic Chemistry for his groundbreaking research, which has a special focus on the coupling of proton and electron transfer in catalysis, energy transduction and biological systems. Prof. Seth Herzon has won the 2018 Elias J. Corey Award for Outstanding Original Contribution in Organic Synthesis by a Young Investigator for his trailblazing syntheses of biologically active natural molecules including pleuromutilins, precolibactins, batzelladine B, huperzine A and lomaiviticin.
