On Tuesday, November 10, the department will hold a symposium in celebration of women’s contributions to chemistry and the history of women chemists at Yale. The symposium will recognize groundbreaking women inside and outside Yale with a series of inspirational presentations, along with the unveiling of a permanent exhibit in SCL that features women chemists who have made prominent contributions. We will also address the past and current challenges that women face in sciences, through presentations by alumnae from the department who have gone on to successful careers in academia and industry. They will give us their perspectives and also participate in a panel discussion. Finally, to help lay the path for the future, we will co-host a networking session later in the afternoon, as a collaboration with Yale Scientific Magazine.
