Teresa Lara-Jaime begins employment in the Chemistry Department on September 19th as the manager of undergraduate chemistry laboratories, providing support to education faculty for the academic year and summer session laboratory programs. Teresa comes to our Department from the Yale Positron Emission Tomography Center, where she worked for more than 3 years as a QC Chemist analyzing radioactive compounds for human clinical studies. Prior to her time at Yale, Teresa worked for 12 years as a Principal Research Associate at Roche Pharmaceuticals. Before being relocated to Roche USA, Teresa was a Medicinal Chemist at Syntex-Roche Mexico. Her research contributions in medicinal chemistry and radiochemistry led her to co-author nine patents and four peer reviewed publications. She has broad experience in organic synthesis including small molecules, isotope label molecules and building blocks. She is thoroughly familiar with safe lab practice and policy. Teresa is excited about this new opportunity; as expressed in her own words, “I really enjoy coaching intern students and junior scientists.” Teresa is located in Sterling Chemistry Laboratory Room 235 and her office phone number is 203-432-4758. Please introduce yourself and welcome Teresa to the Chemistry Department.
