Dr. Sarah Slavoff joins faculty as Assistant Professor in July 2014

March 1, 2014

The Chemistry Department and the Chemical Biology Institute are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sarah Slavoff has accepted our offer to join the faculty as an Assistant Professor on July 1, 2014. Dr. Slavoff is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard (with Alan Saghatelian) and was formerly a graduate student at M.I.T. (with Alice Ting). Her laboratory will apply novel chemical and biochemical tools to address fundamental questions about mRNA. In particular, she is interested in using chemical biology to elucidate the spatial and structural regulation of mRNA degradation inside living cells, and to identify the sites and cellular roles of non-canonical translation initiation.
